I understand your concern, especially in today's market. Please keep in mind that Newton's cradle uses steel balls and fishing line. Magnetic Mayhem uses rare earth (neodymium) magnets, which are more costly than steel balls. It also requires stainless steel wire (not fishing line) to ensure that the magnets maintain their alignment. On top of that, it uses eight precision bearings that allow it to rotate in a full circle, whereas Newton's cradle can only swing, or isolate back-and-forth.
